Chef

HEAD CHEF

We are looking for a skilled Head Chef to be part of our team at The Green Man. Our ethos is fresh & local delicious food with a changing seasonal menu and regular specials using some produce from our own farm.

The Role:

  • Leading the kitchen team

  • Stock check & ordering

  • Menu creation & development

  • Keeping the Kitchens clean and tidy

  • Maintaining our 5* food hygiene certificate

  • Training Junior Staff

  • Maintaining the agreed GP

 

What we are looking for:

  • Someone with experience and willing lead the team

  • A passion for fresh & local food

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

  • Someone willing to share their knowledge with the team

 

What we can offer you:

  • Exciting opportunity to work in a freehold privately owned refurbished pub

  • Large, well laid out kitchen with new equipment including Rational Cookers and a large Chargrill

  • Working with an enthusiastic and young ownership team

  • Competitive salary with room for growth

  • Overtime Hourly rate

  • Tips (works out a bit over an extra £1 an hour)

 

Job Types: Full-time

 

Salary: £33,000.00 - £39,000.00 per year (depending on experience)

 

Additional pay:

  • Tips

  • Overtime Hourly rate £16/hr

Experience:

  • Head Chef: 2 years

  • Chef Experience: 5 years

Sous Chef

We are looking for a super Sous Chef to be part of our team at The Green Man. Our ethos is fresh & local delicious food with a changing seasonal menu and regular specials using some produce from our own farm.

The Role:

  • Working well with our Head Chef

  • Stock check & ordering

  • Menu creation & development with the Chead Chef

  • Keeping the Kitchens clean and tidy

  • Leading the Kitchen when the Head Chef is away.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Someone enthusiastic

  • A passion for fresh & local food

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

  • A person of friendly nature 

 

What we can offer you:

Kitchen Porters

Wanting to learn about Kitchen life in the pub or wanting to earn a bit more money on the side. We are looking for energetic kitchen porters to come and join the team.

The Role:

  • Washing Pots to help the team keep up on service

  • Food preparation before service 

  • Helping keep the kitchen clean and tidy

  • Occasional help with cooking during service 

 

What we are looking for:

  • Enthusiasm 

  • Willing to learn

  • Friendly nature

 

What we can offer you:

  • Training to be professional Chef

  • Tips (works out a bit over an extra £1 an hour)

 

Job Types: Full-time or Part time

 

Salary: Hourly rate that will vary on your age and experience
